Learning experience design (LXD) has been called the elegant integration of learning science and engagement. If instructional design focuses on learning science, LXD adds engagement. While there are an increasing number of books that focus on learning science, there are few that address the engagement side.
What do we need to know and do to add engagement to our learning designs without undermining learning effectiveness?
In this session, we will:

Explore the ‘emotional’ side of a learning experience.

Unpack the need for a learning hook and discuss maintaining engagement throughout the experience.

Review the elements constituting a learning experience and unpack what making them meaningful means.

Reveal tips and tricks that enrich engagement without impacting effectiveness.
