Your Process is a Product: Applying Product Management Principles to Process Improvement

Have you ever contacted customer service only to discover you must face multiple menus before you reach a human representative? And by that point, you've shared your concern several times along the way with no resolution in sight? This frustrating scenario is what happens when processes are designed for efficiency and effectiveness on behalf of the administrators but not for the users. The same situations occur within Talent Management departments across the country. Talent Management processes may be the only time your employees interact with Talent professionals, and that interaction can dictate whether they opt-in to further Talent initiatives or choose to opt-out entirely. With so much on the line, it's important to get process improvement right. Using case studies and product management principles, this session will walk you through key considerations to treat your processes as products, thereby optimizing the experience for your end users and administrators.

Nadira Long is a seasoned Talent Development professional with more than 5 years experience in the Learning and Development space. Her specialties are process improvement, project management and instructional design. She currently works as a Leadership Development Consultant at Spectrum where she supports over 200 senior leaders in attending external leadership development programs. In past roles, she has served as a facilitator, coach and workshop developer.
