Leveling Up LinkedIn and Planning Your Perfect Portfolio

A Two Part Workshop on Building Your Brand and Online Presence

Topic Overview: 

Whether you are brand new to LinkedIn or just looking to take your profile to the next level, this workshop is for you. In our time together, we will work together from start to finish to build a recruiter-enticing profile! At the end of our first session, participants will be asked to share their redesigned LinkedIn pages, as well as provide feedback for others! In our time together, participants are going to level up their LinkedIn page by:

  • Expanding their network
  • Adding visual and appropriate images
  • Writing a concise and recruiter-enticing About section
  • Linking relevant links and documents
  • Updating or adding relevant work experience and education

In the second part of our session, Planning Your Perfect Portfolio, we will walk through building your brand identity and planning your digital portfolio. Building your brand will explore how colors, names, and themes can begin consistency to your portfolio and create recognition. Branding will flow directly into plotting out and planning your portfolio. By the end of the second part, participants will:

  • Begin formulating their brand, including aesthetics, colors, and theme.
  • Plan out their portfolio through audience identification and portfolio purpose.
  • Identify the tools needed to build a portfolio
  • Start building their portfolio.

Presenter Information:

Randi Howell

Speaker Bio:

Randi Howell, a North Carolina native, is the lead Technology Trainer at a large urban community college. Randi also serves as the Vice President of Safe’N’Clear, Inc. In her training role, Howell works with more than 1500 faculty and staff to support and enhance educational technology. Randi works to transition professionals from tech-terrified to tech-savvy. In her role at Safe’N’Clear, Inc., Randi works closely with the CEO and marketing team to publish digital content across social media platforms, including LinkedIn.

Randi provides coaching related to technical skill enhancement, from email and MS Word to coding languages, such as HTML and Python. She provides consulting for LinkedIn profiles, LinkedIn publishing, digital portfolios, and graphic design assets for job applications. With an academic background rooted in mathematics and history, Randi brings both a quantitative and qualitative mindset to her coaching and consulting. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, a master's, and two graduate certificates. Additionally, she is a Google Certified Educator, Level 2. Randi lives with her spouse and two fur babies.
