From Learning to Doing: Facilitation Strategies that Bridge the Transfer Gap

Topic Overview:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify key principles of adult learning theory that influence how training is absorbed and applied.
- Analyze the transfer gap and discover strategies to connect classroom learning with real-world workplace performance.
- Apply interactive facilitation techniques that increase engagement, retention, and long-term application of training content.
The true measure of an impactful training session is not just what participants learn, but what they apply in the workplace. This session equips training and development professionals with facilitation strategies grounded in adult learning theory to create engaging, learner-centered experiences. We will explore the "transfer gap"—the space between knowledge acquisition and real-world application—and uncover practical techniques to bridge this gap. Participants will gain actionable strategies to design and deliver sessions that inspire, engage, and drive workplace performance.
