Session description:
This session will cover current thinking around employee engagement, demonstrate measurement techniques and outline one companies approach for using employee provided information to diagnose issues and drive improvement in business outcomes.

The Speakers: 

Carmela Crawford is the Director of Organization Development at TIAA-CREF.  She has held several positions and has participated on the last two enterprise wide strategic design initiatives. In her current role she is diagnoses and resolves organizational problems, including examining performance records, surveying and interviewing regarding efficiency, effectiveness, morale, climate and profitability.  Carmela holds a Masters in Business Administration from the New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York, NY, an Institute of management Consulting Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a member of ASTD, and Human Performance Improvement (HPI) certified.

Heather Fausnaugh is the Learning Director at TIAA-CREF.  Because of her passion for performance consulting and ensuring training is tied to the business goals, she has built and implemented strategies to create a culture of development, re-vamped work flow processes for the learning department that can be used as a toolkit that includes proactive performance consulting methods, and is currently developing the Integrated Learning Strategy for the HR organization. 

Heather has dedicated more than nine years to the field of learning and development.   She began her career in learning at Delta Air Lines as an Instructional Designer creating instructor-led, self-paced, and video-instructed learning.  She also was instrumental in creating on one of Delta’s first multi-media simulations to train customer service agents on how to operate loading bridges.  Heather went on to manage the facilitation staff for Delta Air Lines Reservations Call Center. 

In 2004, Heather began a career with LogicBay as an Advanced Distributed Learning Project Manager.  In this role she consulted with companies such as 3M, Caterpillar, Ecolab, and Hewlett-Packard to development and implement web-based and instructor-led training curriculums, performance support systems, competency modeling, e-commerce sites, performance centers, LMS upgrades and migrations, and LMS hosting.

To further expand her skills in learning arena, Heather transitioned to a performance improvement consultant at Bank of America, where she earned her Six Sigma Green Belt on a project to create an Enterprise Credit Curriculum.  This project is yielding a 45 course curriculum that is estimated to save the bank $1.5M. 

 Heather is dedicated to growing her expertise and sharing it with those around her.  She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Art in Sociology.  She then went on to get a Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Georgia and continued on to receive her Master of Education in Instructional Design and Technology from American InterContinental.  To continue to grow and learn about the ever-changing world of Training and Development, Heather is a member of ASTD.
